Shining through our Scars
We may manifest resentment, living out of our pain or the overwhelming circumstances of life. However, as we live surrendered in our union with Christ we witness our internal progress as He restores our hearts.
This healing within extinguishes the sting of pain, empowering us to forgive and release, letting go of any offense or judgment. We perceive how we once were and the reactions and triggers no longer arise. He now sits enthroned in the very places where we once felt sore, alone, afraid, or bereft.
The Spirit mentors us in self-forgiveness, revealing how God steps over our mistakes, both past and present, to hold us in His enfolding arms. He nurtures us with His wrap-around Presence, and we settle into His truth spoken over us. His compassionate acceptance now healing our hearts. The Father’s desire to see all our wounds healed and those within our relationships become our hope as we look ahead. This empowers us to walk above offence, in forgiveness.
As we open our hearts to Him, His revelation light floods us again. Our darkness is no more and we rest in the bliss of the love He lavishes upon us “With light dispelling every trace of darkness within you, your entire life becomes a beaming, radiant light!” Luke 11:36 (TMSB)
Both His scars and ours speak of His redemption and unconditional love. How can we not be overwhelmed with love and gratitude as we see our inner world restored to His original design? Our past now declaring His kindness and restoration, our future full of hope. Now we become a beacon of hope to others as He shines through our healed scars, singing out redemption for their unhealed places too!
