Our Redemption Story
We are forever saved in Him to be His Beloved and part of His family.
We comprehend our salvation; however, how often do we fight for the right to be who we already are? How many times do we revert back to our orphan heartedness? Yet He offers the way for us to leave this place of striving to be drawn into the very centre of His affections.
He longs that we would leave our fleshly offerings of self-effort to become abandoned to Him. In all our clumsy ways of striving to live and look like Him and every time we have complied from the fear of religious duty, we were clothing ourselves in filthy rags without realising we are already dressed in Him.
Holy Spirit reveals the places hidden in our nature that are yet to be unveiled as Christ's righteousness. He stops us in our tracks as He exposes the old man speaking, and highlights our old patterns of behaviour. Christ consistently roots out the beliefs and falsehoods that have gripped our hearts or have been laying hidden deep within us. His beautiful light exposes everything that doesn’t look like Him or sound like His voice within us.
This journey continues as we endeavour to disentangle from the weeds that grow up around our hearts, and humbly choose to hand back all Lordship to Christ. Instead of fighting with ourselves internally, we repent of our old ways and learn to lean on Him. All that He asks is that we simply let it all go and rest within Him, as He leads us deeper into Himself. It is learning this life lesson that we begin to perceive the sweet paradise we share with Jesus in the secret place.
Whenever we are not looking His way or listening to His voice, He calls us back gently with such great kindness, so that we again fall at His feet of ready to exchange the loving glance shared between intimate friends. His desire is to disentangle us from self, so that we can be forever entwined with Him. All this takes place as we simply relax and chose to lovingly gaze upon Him in blissful surrender.
In this place we find that we think less about ourselves as we become gripped by the longing to remain in the resting place of His love. We find opportunities to fill our minds with Heaven, engaging with every godly thought He has been waiting for us to ponder upon. It's here that we begin to truly mature. In this place our reflection of Him emerges, the dust and debris shaken off and washed away.
