Hope in Failure

I momentarily took comfort in my self-righteousness of believing I had been wronged and was owed!! It felt good to be angry and spiteful in my mind. However, it was the moment for me to come good on my resolve to follow after Psalm 19:14 (TPT)So may the words of my mouth, my meditation-thoughts, and every movement of my heart be always pure and pleasing, acceptable before your eyes.”

I felt ashamed, crippled in my inability to be true to my words to God. In my own strength there was no way back, the enemy keeping me hostage in my mind. But God! Holy Spirit revealed that this trigger was also an opportunity to show me where I have work to do, unmasking past pain and lies believed.

God is so kind to come along side us internally bringing hope, fresh resolve and a slate washed clean by Christ’s blood. His empowering presence arriving as peace, fuels the energy to step back onto the holy path, lifting our eyes again to His face and off of our imperfections and those of others.

As we gaze in wonder at His beauty, we no longer focus on the frailty of humanity. We see the fruitfulness of our determination to continually walk in transparency both before and with Him. It’s here that He shines through our increasing restoration. We hold to the truth that apart from Him we can’t attain this holiness, but when we abide in Him we can excel at the very things He asks of us.

We become a conduit of His love and power. We look away from ourselves and rejoice that the more we surrender, the more He unveils our true identity. We relinquish the hope of being a nice person and step into our identity as His reflection.

In this place of our surrender and His reigning within, He is able to move through us as He shines through the redeemed places within us.
